The majority in the IT-security company Outpost24 has been acquired by the PE-fund Monterro II. OutPost24 is internationally active in the IT security area, vulnerability management and was founded in Karlskrona in 2001. The owners chose to use Skarpa as advisor in this sale when they sought an investor who could take Outpost24 to the next level. Monterro closed its second fund by 1.2 billion SEK in June and published the first investment shortly thereafter. Now the fund’s second and Monterro’s largest investment is completed when the PE-company buys 75 percent of the IT-security company Outpost24.
Monterro II takes an ownership stake of approximately 75 percent in Outpost24, through a combination of acquisitions of old shares and new issues. At the same time, Episervers Martin Henricson becomes new CEO of IT security company, when he takes over from founder Carsten Bang Jensen, who will remain in the company’s management team. Martin has experience in developing IT companies to the next level in the international expansion phase at which Outpost is now.
Outpost24, founded in 2001 in Karlskrona, is active in the IT security area vulnerability management. The company currently employs 102 employees and headquarters in Karlskrona and 8 offices in Europe and the United States as well as over 90 retailers worldwide. Outpost24 helps, over 2000 customers in 40 more than countries of all sizes and in most industries, to protect their internal and external IT networks. Examples of customers include Kingston University, Komplett, Landsbankinn, LKAB and Stena Line. Monterro is a Stockholm-based PE-company specializing in investments in Nordic software companies.
